Here we go again

I am now official.  Will be doing a few farmers market this year along with a
couple of craft fairs coming up.  I hope this will be productive in maybe
selling something.. In the past it has been people walking by taking a little
look and then saying you do beautiful work, but it is something that I don't
really need right now.  You know it gets so discouraging sometimes.
I think my work is pretty good and then I go to these things and end up sitting
there for two or three days with out selling a dang thing,.  On top of that paying
for a table from 35 dollars all the way up to maybe 110 dollars and nothing to
show for it.

Well the Farmers market is in Abbotsford BC.  I go there once a month. On a Saturday
were i usually go in the middle of the month. Can't take more then that as I worud have to book off work more often and that is just counter productive.  On top of that I don't think the
boss would like me taking that much time off.  Especially since I also take off
another day to do another craft fair in Abbotsford.  This one is on a Sunday and
I usually do this one on the first part of the month.  The first showing for this is
on June 3 and will be on Old Riverside Road in Abbotsford BC form 9 til 2 or 3.

This should keep my plate full for a little while.  It would be nice if I could get
down in the garage once in while.  But seems everytime I have spare time.  My
hubby is  home and has other plans.  At least I finaly got a starting on a chest I
was making.  It is put together now and just has to be glued together.
Then I can start with the outside.  Boy it is taking a long time to do this.
I need two or three people like me in order to get these things done.
one to do the house work,  one to keep my hubby company, one to go to work,
and the other to be down in the garage enjoying herself with the sawdust.
Well that is never going to happen so I might as well get this blog done and head on my
way to the garage.  I actually have a day.

So now lets get cracking before it is too late for me to do it.  Maybe I can get a little done
on the horses I am working on as well.  Okay lets go boogie to the basement.

YES! YES! YES!

yeah! out in the garage

Well I finally got out in the garage today.  Only for a little bit though.
Still have to do the work thing today so can't get too dusty.

As I was saying in my other blog I hadn't been feeling the greatest this
past few days.  The arthritis just seemed to take over and be my whole life.
Today seems to be allot better. Hurray for that.

Today the dogs got a good walking and then I went to the garden and
plucked a few weeds.  From there I ventured down into the garage
and started working on a project again.  It is still the horses I am working on..
Got a few more pieces glued on.  Well maybe someday it will get done.  Just
keep puttering on it when I can

I also am working on a keepsake box for a friend at work.  She is hoping it is
big enough to put keepsakes in for her son  Well hopefully in the next week if all
goes well I can put it together.

The problem is that my hubby is home all week again
and he just loves to get me doing other things.  If the weather is good he will
want to take a couple of rides on the motorbike or get out and walk allot. Quality
time together.  I think it is too much time together but that is just my opinion.

Anyways back to my projects here.  This is not about my home life.

I have a few craft fairs coming up here in the next little while that I am
participating in.  The first one in May is the farmers market in Abbotsford
BC on May 19.  I go there once a month and sit and watch the people walk by.
They stop and look at my woodworking.  Say I do beautiful work and
admire for a while then walk on and buy from someone else.  Well they are
buying things they need instead of things that would look pretty on a wall or a shelf.
What is with that?  only kinding.  I can see their point.  Don't buy something
you don't really need.  It is just a luck of the draw if someone buys something
of mine.

But dang does it really feel good when someone does take an interest and buy
something you made.  I did make a couple of sales at the last market.  So really
made me feel good.

I also have another lady who sits across from me .  She does jewellery.  She has taken an
interest in my work and is telling me about different galleries that would be interested
in my woork as well.  I jsut have to get around and contact them.

The other two sales I will be doing. is a craft market starting up in Abbbotsford.
The first craft sale will be June 3 and this will be on old riverside rod in Abbotsford
from 9 til 4.  It is a new venue for crafty people to show off their wares.  I will be doing
one a month as I don't think I will get off work any more then that.

The last one I am attending is in Abbostford again on Canada day.
The arts council is setting up a market for crafters on Canada day in Rotarty park.
SO I decided that I might as well give that one a try as well.  Hopefully
I will do some good but if not I get to see allot of people and get some feed back.

Well work is looming on me again.  So have to sign off and get ready here.
Well if anyone is in Abbotsford on those dates come on out and enjoy the craft fairs.
Love to see you there
